A hit in South Africa

The workshops were held to give teachers information about Trinity’s Rock & Pop exams before they are launched on 12 March, and took place in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town.

During the course of each workshop, David Bobby took the participants through the essential features of the rock and pop exams, explaining the structure of the exams, the syllabus and the assessment criteria. As a keyboards player, he also played some example songs and demonstrated the session skills.

At all of the workshops the teachers were extremely positive about the new exams, asking a wide variety of questions about all aspects of the qualifications. These included queries about the development of the syllabus, the resources available on the website and the session skills.

One teacher commented on how much she’d enjoyed the workshop she attended, saying: “I am very excited about exploring the keyboard syllabus and hope to get my hands on the books soon.”
